Summary of the book

This Handbook explores challenges in Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA).  The level of digital divide during COVID-19 faced by the have-nots reveals the gaps, among others, in the community’s engagement and empowerment. . It incorporates three facets, viz., the role of LAM in the community where the user lives, LAM's digital readiness for Smart Cities, and addressing the LAM leadership for a better engagement in responding to the post-COVID-19 era. LAM needs more human memory to support community resilience -- during turbulence for inclusion and engagement by design. It recommends the motto: LAM is for use: serve as a living organism and aim to engage everyone synchronously, virtually, augmented with their unique identities. 


These chapters are from a perspective that is local, for example, in dealing with barriers and/or strategies, but these approaches can be replicated at national and international levels. 

The book makes it very clear that SJ &/or CE are concerns that need LAM to take up a proactive position and  start conversations, first within their institutions and second, with stakeholders or customers to bring a better environment of equity and empathy.
